Port Management

Port Operations oversees the day-to-day management of the pier and its operations at the Reynolds Pier. This includes:

Berthing

Reynolds Pier is 274.3 metres long with a recommended vessel draft of 12.2 metres. Cruise ships are given berthing priority and generally arrive Mondays through Thursdays. The Port offers berthing for:

Shipping

The Reynolds Pier facilitates the loading of cargo vessels for the shipment of bulk limestone and sugar. Sugar ships are normally given berthing priority over limestone ships.

Dry Docking

The Port offers the only dry dock facility along the North Coast corridor and facilitates small pleasure boats (catamarans), small fishing boats and fire boats. The facility accommodates the launching/re-launching of vessels for maintenance and servicing. Lifting capacity is approximately 40 tonnes.

Reynolds Pier offers some services exclusively to the vessels that berth at the pier; this enhances our value preposition to the many stakeholders we serve. Some of the services we offer include:

Scale Services

The Company has a fully automated electronic scale, with an accuracy and repeatability of ±10%. The scale is calibrated annually by the Bureau of Standards Jamaica. In addition to providing weighing services for bulk sugar export, the Company also accommodates weighing of trucks transporting scrap metals and bulk rum.

Oil Bunkering

The Company facilitates bunkering and de-bunkering of Heavy Fuel Oil and Marine Fuel Oil. The two bunker fuel (bunker C) storage tanks have storage capacities of 1,263,511 gallons and 1,381,881 gallons.

Equipment Rental

JBM offers equipment rental at the Port for vessels being loaded on the pier in addition to other rentals not related to the port’s operations. These include:
